News Cajana Selected to Host Oracle and PeopleSoft Applications for Higher Education Implementation in Mexico

Alpharetta, GA – May 18, 2011 - The Union Nacional de Instituciones Privadas de Educacion Superior (UNIPES), a consortium of 10 public and private colleges in central Mexico with a total of nearly 30,000 students, today selected Cajana to provide full Application Incubation and Production hosting for PeopleSoft Campus Solutions and Oracle Financials and HR in support of their implementation and maintenance of these products. The college is implementing these products concurrently, with the project scheduled to kick off later this month. This initiative is the first of several Higher Education Shared Services initiatives sponsored by Mexico’s Secretary of Education, and authorized and funded through legislation by the Mexican Senate. The program will be managed by the governor’s office of the Mexican state of Queretaro. Cajana and UNIPES have executed a hosting agreement with an initial term of 5 years. “We determined that our consortium needed to modernize our technology in order to provide our students with a world-class education experience, and we viewed the Oracle applications as an excellent technology platform,” said Dr. Jose Agustin Lopez Gonzalez Pacheco, President of the UNIPES Consortium. “However, given the infrastructure and technical skill deficiencies in our region, we knew we needed outside help with managing the applications. Cajana’s expertise in hosting Oracle applications for higher education was the perfect fit, and they designed a strategy and cost model that reduces both our risk and cost.
